Re: Old law suit

I've not heard of any lawsuit either. If not John Hron, it could perhaps have a connection to the Mary Bell case?

Possibly but that is going back to 1968. If there was a lawsuit about that case then it would have more likely been Mary Bell herself who was unhappy rather than the victims (two ...

Re: People Come (fan made/manipulated Stina)

Thank you for the link. I don't think I've seen the video before even though its been on YT for 12 years. I think its clever and the guy who created it obviously spent a lot of time and effort on it but it kind of leaves me a little bit ....... :|

Re: Old law suit

Hi harreh, I haven't heard of this law suit but if it did exist, I'd imagine it was related to 'This Time, John'? I seem to recall that song was inspired by an actual case that happened in Sweden, but I can't recall now where I read about it. Very long time ago now. Maybe Rob B would know more, he ...

Re: How are you today?

Well Rob you might not have to come to Scotland after all, I had a talk yesterday with my daughter about my plans to settle elsewhere in Scotland, and her unexpectedly emotional reaction has given me pause. The option of moving originally came up because I'm having to travel regularly to Oxford now ...

Re: How are you today?

Isn't Cromer in .... Norfolk? Or am I thinking of somewhere else. Hardly venturing further north Rob, let's see if you can make it up to oooh, Yorkshire or somewhere, then gradually we can entice you right over the border!!
Nope, you were right first time,Cromer is in Norfolk, right up on its ...

Re: How are you today?

Unfortunately, this place isn't as active as it used to be, but it's awesome to catch up with people I care.

Good luck Alex with your Gameboy Game when its released, and that's good news that you've been able to resume your piano playing.

At times I think, in general, that message boards are a ...

Re: How are you today?

Well it must be time for Bluesy's annual post, yay!

How the devil are you all? Still alive? :D I expect Rob will be in the old people's home by now, hope he's entertaining everyone. 8-)

Eliza is still very happily living in the west of Scotland, but contemplating a move to the lovely ...

Re: Marika Hackman

Feels like I completely missed this post. Love what I'm hearing. I'll dive into her world.

Yeah, I was unfamiliar with her when this thread was created nine years ago so I'm glad I spotted it before I'd created a new one on Marika. To be honest I only originally checked her out as she's on the ...

Faeland

Faeland are basically a contemporary folk duo working out of Stroud in Gloucestershire. I've still to catch them live but have been enjoying the couple of albums they've released to date.

Here's a deceptively simple but beautiful song which I particularly like, called To The Ones I Know and Love ...

She is hilarious too though of course, I must just post this clip from 'Letters Live', where she has been a regular performer. :-D
I was trying to remember who Olivia reminded me during that monologue, and then it came to me......Joyce Grenfell !! :D

Re: The Innocence Mission

I must dive deeper in their albums, each one I heard is great!

I purchased Glow (an early album) many many years ago and I wasn't keen. Then I found 'sun on the square' in a charity shop and I absolutely love it. I've since bought its follow up,' See You Tomorrow' (the follow up to 'sun on the ...

The Innocence Mission

I've been playing the album 'Sun On The Square' by The Innocence Mission quite a lot recently, and if I close my eyes then I really can hear Stina's voice here. Both Karen Peres and Stina sound uncannily alike at times and both artists emerged at roughly the same time in the late 1980's,albeit ...

Oh I see you! ^ Looking good for a 97 year old Rob, wonderful that you're still getting out to gigs. :D

Oi young Beth, you can knock 33 years off that figure thank you very much. :D

I like the girl at the beginning having a lay down on the stage, it must get tiring playing gigs. :D Well yeah ...

Is this one I probably shouldn't watch, Rob?

Yeah,I'd give this one a miss if I were you.

I've liked Olivia Coleman ever since the Broardchurch series and many of my friends have seen Empire of Light and have liked it. I'm not over keen on the cinema though (I don't think I ...
