Re: eBay pics

I think you're right about two of the photos being festival shots. I think the actual dates written on the back are the dates the photos were printed as neither of the dates exactly match the known concert dates at the time. I would have been interested but the thought of not getting much change fro...

Re: How are you today?

I'm desperate to get back up home for a bit, having been due to go up at the beginning of April to look at two flats in my hometown. Lockdown scuppered that. 😣 That must be so frustrating, Beth? :( Still, hopefully you can get up there soon and choose a flat......so we can all come up for a cheap h...

Re: Marketa Irglova

Love 'Nimrod Ron on Tuba' - a bit like the Bonzos 'The Intro and the Outro' -'looking very relaxed, Adolf Hitler on Vibes' Emiliana Torrini sounds good on this. I heard a couple of her solo albums back in the day and found them very bland and dull, so this is a big improvement. :D It may ...

Re: How are you today?

Lovely photo Dave and you seem to have had a nice time, midges aside? And you were lucky with the weather it seems too? I've never been to Scotland, its a bit of a drive from Essex although during the 1960's my uncle and aunt drove up to John O'Groats in their 3-wheel Bond !!  So I ...

Re: Marketa Irglova

Yep, nice - maybe a little long for its content, but hey. Would be good to see all the lyrics printed out. I think the song is about the right length but they kind of ran out of ideas for the video. :D High upon this hill, Lives a king and daughter, Can you hear their songs, Echo across the water, ...

Re: Polly Scattergood

I'll skip the second album (Arrows) and so here we are, eleven years on, and its album #3, In This Moment. I've been playing it a lot over the last few days and really enjoying it. Its certainly attracting a lot of positive reviews and there is much to be enjoyed here, especially for anyone into elec...

Re: Winter Killing remix

I'm not convinced the onscreen lyrics are correct but the internet insisted. I hope you enjoy it! I've just cross-checked the lyrics with the lyrics in the TWIS booklet and they seem to be okay. Occasionally the internet has its info correct. And I did enjoy your re-working of Stina's origin...

Like your new avatar, RobB. Is it a penny-farthing with a rainhood?
Well, its a canopy,...not that you could ride it with it attached of course.

Re: How are you today?

Like Dave, I pop in and out, usually once or twice a day. Short of a new album from Stina though, its difficult to envisage how these boards can come alive again like the good ol' days. :)

Re: The Walkabouts ~ 'And She Closed Her Eyes'

I don't think Stina was impressed. I have a hazy memory of Stina being asked about their version and she just laughed. Actually,an even hazier memory is that I might have asked the question !!! [b)] Personally I really like their version as they didn't do what Sarah Brightman did with 'Mur...

The Walkabouts ~ 'And She Closed Her Eyes'

Covers by professional artists of Stina's song are very few and far between. Here's one of the few....The Walkabouts with their cover of 'And She Closed her Eyes'.

I really must try and create new threads / topics but the problem is I get sidetracked reading these funny little threads from 14 years ago.
