Even as a demo its such a strange recording/song to have even been considered for ASCHE. Its almost as if its from an entirely seperate project? It reminds me more of 'Walking Too Fast' from six years later.

It makes me wonder just how many demos Stina has hidden away? They would make for a very interesting collection for an album. 8)

I don't think it was a demo for ASCHE,it just got tacked onto the end of the tape Kuhn found. Nonetheless, the rain/eyes/on-off love affair themes are strongly redolent of ASCHE,so I've always thought of it as emotionally connected to that album.
If I recall correctly from one of Vero's statements, it was a projected collaboration with someone called Johan Vivare who did electronica-type things,Stina wanting to try her hand at something different.
I had a go at transcribing the lyrics once-

'He ended up talking to her
As she was ready to go
Came crossing the hall up to her
Just to (took point)

Remember that rainy day (it) said
When I was all you cared for

The party was almost over
‘Cause he didn’t go
She’d been cross that valley
Five years ago
Skies have been blue all weekend
If you wanted to get away
‘Cause if somebody told you bout it
That’s what you’d say

Remember that pilot’s missing
(Child) could have made it

He ended up talking to her
And looked in her eyes
And even crossing the room up to her
It was such a surprise

Remember that rainy day it said
When I was all you cared for'

Anyone else fancy a go?

Heres my slightly different hearing-

line 4;-Just to the point

lines7-10;-The party was almost over
'Cause he didn't know
She'd been 'cross that valley searching
Five years ago

line 16 (as i wrote above);-Jack could have made it

Re-listening,i agree it could be child, but Jack(being the name of the missing pilot) makes more sense.

Because the song has that deep speaker blowing bass, ala The thing about fire and Welcome to happiness,I dare not play it too loud...

If the tape was a genuine ASCHE promo tape from 1994 which was issued to the media,I'm not sure how (let alone why) a later song could be tacked on the end of it?

Btw......today is the 'first day of spring' (usually the 21st but this year the 20th)
I might just play the song in celebration. 8)

I've been listening to the song about a dozen times this afternoon.
Comparing and combining my transcription to sound worlds & barretts, here's my final version:

'He Ended Up Talking To Her'

He ended up talking to her
And she was ready to go
Came crossing the hall up to her
Just at that point.

Remember that rainy day
Remember that rainy day

Remember that rainy day it said
And I was all you cared for
The party was almost over
'Cause he didn't know
She's been cross that valley searching
Five years ago
Skies have been blue all weekend
If you wanted to get away
'Cause somebody told you about it
Thats what you've saved.

Remember that pilot's missing
Remember that pilot's missing

Remember that pilot's missing
Jack could have made it.

He ended up talking to her
And the look on her face
And crossing the room up to her
It wasn't surprise

Remember that rainy day it said
And I was all you cared for.
