"The World Is Saved' vinyl release in the US

Post by RobB »

Stina's most recent album 'The World Is Saved' is being released on vinyl in the US this month. 8)

Beacon Sound is proud to be releasing ‘The World Is Saved’ on vinyl for the first time in November of this year. This fully licensed edition will be distributed in North America and will be available via direct sales to overseas customers. The first pressing of 500 individually-numbered copies will contain an accompanying 7” featuring a remix of ‘Parliament Square’ by The Knife as well as the non-lp track ‘Failure To Fly’.

Thanks for the tipoff, RobB!
I've ordered one of those-hopefully the artwork will look suitably fab on a 12" sleeve. Bit of a shame that they charge the same amount for the postage as the cost of the LP (no option but 1st class USPS), but hey...

So that's two new Stina LPs this year! Hopefully somebody might make vinyls of Dynamite, PAS and This Is to complete the set.

It will interesting to see what number your copy is going to be?

There have been books published in the US which I would have loved to have had but because of their weight, the postage costs would have been horrendous. :(

Thanks Rob, for the hint! I've just ordered my copy. Great that I can buy a second LP within a year.

I'm from the US and want to buy this, can I mail it to myself, and how long will these be available?
Also does the making of them mean they have had direct contact with Stina?

I guess how long they'll be available will depend on how long it takes for the 500 copies to be sold.

Also,as Stina owns the recording and artwork copyrights (via her company A Walk In The Park), I suspect Beacon Sound would have needed some form of direct contact with Stina herself.

Has anyone had their copy yet?
Afer a lot of delay the website is now showing them packing the Stina LPs. If you go to http://www.wearebeaconsound.com/news one of the pics on the carousel at the top shows it being packaged. It says 'this week'...

Much to my surprise I received the item today.

It seems the release is a limited edition of 500. My copy is #31.

Beacon Sound packed the item well. No ugly bends or damage on the album, however I wish they had put something to protect the single which was housed in the album cover

Click the link below for a grainy photo of the item:

I'm sorry, kuhn, mine is #27/500. Hey, it's just a number.
Did you notice on the back it says 'thanks to Helen McLaughlin...and to Stina'.

I feel very chuffed that a few weeks back I was working in the very place where it was mixed .... :D

No, I didn't. I guess McLaughlin is/was Stina manager at some point?
