Exit Through the Gift Shop

Post by Angie »

Has anyone seen this excellent documentary about street art? I see very few movies these days, but this one just sucked me right in. Fantastic, and fascinating. And mysterious... :?:

It's was made by Banksy, a very famous street artist, I wish I could watch it but it's not released here.
It was nominated for "best documentary" at the Oscar ceremony.

Sounds interesting and amusing:

Banksy is an odd one. I can't believe he's managed to sustain the 'anonymous' thing for so long, particularly when his work is now shown in galleries! There's a theory that 'Banksy' is actually several different people, which would be hilarious. :D

I think he was rumbled last year, wasn't he?
His work is great. Living near Bristol, where he was definitely based for a long time, I see quite a bit of it firsthand.

I just found the movie "in the usual places" so I'll watch it this weekend.

I remember someone sold the Banksy's real identity on Ebay few weeks ago but I'm not sure if it was the real one or just some freak trying to make money on him.

It was! I was so hoping it would win to see who would accept the award.

Oh, it was probably Banksy himself. :)

So I watched it last night and really appreciated it.
But I'm not sure that's a documentary, more a piece of art with invented characters as part of the canvas.

It was fun and interesting so I really advice to watch it !
