I can't believe the people who stood in those Harry Potter queues dressed as characters from the books. I mean ... adults! :shock: :lol:

My partners daughter managed to drag her dad out to Sainsburys at midnight to buy the new book (for a fiver!) 8)

Rather him than me. :lol:

Won't be long now until every charity shop in the UK has Harry Potter books galore.

In the news today: On the last day before holidays, a british teacher decided to read the last page of the new Harry Potter book to her class. The children and their parents were not amused and are looking at steps to take. (this was on a dutch news site)

apparently she wanted the kids to spend their free days differently than reading HP the whole time. :D

Today was JKR's birthday-I expect she sat in bed counting the royalties. :D

How is this possible?Schoolkids broke up for the summer holidays a few weeks ago-before the book came out-didnt they?
I'm on page 316-a rivetting read ,as usual :D

And good luck to her. ^ She's made all that money with her own efforts, and puts a great deal of it to good use in various charitable foundations. She hasn't forgotten what it's like to be on your uppers. I remember her talking about how, as a single mother reliant on benefits, she wrote most of the first book sitting in a cafe all day because she couldn't afford to heat her flat.

I do envy her the Scots Baronial pad she has now, mind. :D
