Contactmusic.com reports that Bj?rk is currently taking a 10-week course to captain a 30 ton boat, and when completed she will embark on an epic journey with her family.
"It has always been my ambition. I have homes all over the place at the moment - Iceland, England and France - but I'd love for my home to be a boat so that I can take it wherever I go. The course I'm taking tests whether I have the balls to do this. So I'm having to work hard and behave myself. My life's always changing - I'm constantly looking for new things. I'm never still. My theory is that life on a boat could be great."

But when my grandmother was 40 she was sussed. She'd feed the people she loved, but also lead a fabulous life. She was a painter and she used to sneak off for a couple of weeks with a lot of red wine and just paint. She had the best of both worlds. I think 20 isn't cool, 30 is a mess and being 40 is nice. I'm there now. I am a good older person."

"November 21st, the label Rephlex are releasing an EP featuring the 'Shooting Stars & Asteroids' and 'Asteroids Mix' remixes of 'Who Is It' (catalogue number CAT 174 EP). This song is the first version from 2001 - back when it was known as "Embrace Fortress" - with music by Bogdan Raczynski. The song was first heard performed on the Vespertine tour with the Inuit choir, to later be heavily reworked and included on Med?lla. This EP will also be distributed by LaBaleine (check the page for mp3 samples) in France on Novembert 21st.
Bogdan Raczynski remixes this track taken from Bjork's "Medulla" album, introducing breakbeats aplenty."

My opinion on Medulla: The only three songs i didn't think should have been on the album were Show Me Forgiveness, Oll Birtain, and Sonnets Unrealities XI. Without those tracks i think the album would have been much more coherent, even with the other 3 experiments, Submarine, Midvikudags, and Ancestors, which i felt were much better. Ancestors may have been the most experimental and odd song in the album, but at least it was interesting to listen to, and didn't make you want to kill yourself like Oll Birtain.
DR9: I don't really like Storm, the solemn/eerie feeling of Nameless has been replaced with crashing noise, and not a musical crashing noise. The closest you are going to what should sound like the studio version is fan-remixer Nijinsky's Sonic Weapon Mix.

The sho used on the tracks Antarctic Return and Shimenawa is absolutely beautiful sounding. Gratitude is nice but it isn't Bjork singing so I don't find it very interesting. Ambergris March, Cetacea, Pearl and Bath are all nice tracks, Tagaq's throat singing is amazing, and Bath sounds like the music for a haunted house. Hunter Vessel and Vessel Shimenawa are poor instrumentals, and Holographic Entrypoint is fucking terrible; However, Holographic Entrypoint is the only song that isn't composed by Bjork, it was composed by Barney.
I just hope that next time Bjork can create something experimental, but not half-assed like Medulla; half-assed in the sense that tracks that turned into songs were amazing but the others were just mediocre experiments. I hope her next album is able to keep a coherent theme like Vespertine did.

Selling out?
I haven't been too fond of Bj?rk since Medulla, but it gets worse and worse. After a Greatest Hits Compilation, all kinds of live albums of each regular album she released, she has now decided to release a box with all of her albums including the videos. What is this? She's only thinking about the money, get that girl in a studio, give her some instruments and let her go back to her roots, please. 
I noticed the album box set up on Amazon.co.uk the other day. I might be tempted to see if I can pick one up secondhand after release. All my Bjork cds are scratched to bits by now, it's time I replaced them.
Bjork has been working on her new album for a while now, Paul - she moved back to Reykjavik for a while to record, which is probably good news for anyone who doesn't like the work she's done in New York.

Really? I haven't heard that news yet. But I guess it's good that she moved back to Reykjavik. Although a huge amount of Medulla and Vespeterine were recorded there also.
I guess that with Vespeterine I lost it with Bj?rk. I loved the album at first but nowadays I don't listen to it anymore. I find myself listening to Debut and Post mainly. I hope that Bj?rk goes back to the days of more mainstream music with an extraordnary voice (that makes it weird enough already).
