As each album has its own 'sound identity', the only consistent link is Stina's vocals.
Either you like her singing or you don't!
So I don't think it matters from which album you choose the song from so much as the song is instantly accessible.

Another Story Girl
Everyone Else In The World
Sharon & Hope

Or you could try introducing 'the voice' with a familar song: ie
Purple Rain

Naaa,go for the jugular.Give 'em the kind of thing Stina does so well-a unique take on a difficult subject,with extraordinary lyrical observations and music to match; something like 'Mary Bell'.If someone can't respond to that and get a sense of Stina's uniqueness,they're not going to like Stina anyway.

I think 'Stations' could be a good introductory song .... it's not anything unusual musically, a good basic repetitive riff to hang on to, simple vocal, intriguing words. Maybe I'm just biased because I love that song, but I think it would make me check her out if I hadn't heard her before.

Funnily enough,'Stations' was a clincher for me. And the music's great!

Thats sounds good in theory but wouldn't work in practice.First impressions are everything and if you give the listener a song that requires careful attention then chances are they won't be able to take the song in,be put off and won't return to the artist.

Like a shop with a sale on,you always put the bargains near the entrance and not tucked away at the back.

I was considering playing one track from each of her six albums and speaking about her in between each track.

So 6 Stina tracks will be played on one show. To show how truly important her music is.

ALONE AT NIGHT - Memories of A Colour
CRIME - And She Closed Her Eyes
DYNAMITE - Dynamite
PEOPLE ARE SAVED - People Are Saved
CIRCUS - This Is
BUTTERFLY - The World Is Saved

I think thats a pretty fair list.
I'm particularly pleased to see (two of my favourite Stina tracks) 'Circus' and 'Crime' chosen and 'Dynamite' and 'People Are Saved' are solid choices too.
Maybe I would have gone for 'Another Story Girl' & 'Parliament Square' to represent MOAC & TWIS,especially the former if you are planning on playing the tracks in chronolgical order.

Otherwise,its overall a very strong selection and if Stina was ever to do a 'best of' album,then surely all those tracks would be on it.

I'm glad you've approved of my list. Great! I must have a good taste in Stina music.

Looking at your suggestions Rob, I may actually swap Parliament Square for Butterfly.

However, I'm not sure about that right now.

Wow I didn't expect all the dislike for "Parliament Square". Considering I think it's one of her best songs on the album but thats fair enough.

I'll probably go with Butterfly. Considering I can't get enough of it. The audience might feel the same way.

I am unsure whether they'll like her voice. I mean I obviously love it but I can understand why people might dislike it. I guess this works as an experiment as well.

I think its one of the better songs too,although to be fair,most of the songs are pretty strong,including 'Buttrefly'.

Like early Kate Bush,listeners are either going to be won over by her voice or they're going to be running for the hills with hands firmly clasped over ears.
I don't think you can be indifferent with Stina,either you're going to like her music or you're going to detest it.
Unfortunately,from my own experience of other people's reactions,its going to be 5% in favour and 95% not in favour.
