It's in the picture thread somewhere, you know - he posted a picture of himself because he'd made some comment about how ugly Thom Yorke was and I got all on my high horse (cos I luv Thom). And in this picture he's stood in front of a tree and it looks like the branches are growing out of his back, like weird angel wings.

Very reasonable eating and drinking yesterday evening here. Presents for the ladies. I got myself an iPod touch a while ago. Don't use it much at all. My advice, save your money.

Meet-up in Stockholm. Hum, why not in Lund, in February? We have a trip planned to Lund in February... Another suggestion, Biarritz second half of July 2008.

Do you know, I just realised I've spoken to Rob on the phone and I can't recall his voice at all. He must have worked some kind of Prisoner-style mind mischief on me.

I don't know about shy Paul but i'm quite quiet natured.

They are pretty misleading really.

I remember being surprised by your Scottish accent, Beth....I wasn't expecting that at all.

I actually have a kind of rural north Essex / south Suffolk accent....(a lot of people think I'm from Suffolk) but thats not really surprising as I've traced my family history back 500 years and we've always been living near to those county borders.

As a foreigner I have troubles with understanding the Scottish accent, with Beth that was no problem at all.... so I guess the accent wasn't that bad. [akiss]

Yeah I think Dave was surprised as well, if I recall, though I'm sure I've mentioned my Scots origins on the board. I'm from the west of Scotland, the bit with the broadest, most impenetrably indecipherable speech.

I left when I was still a child though, so I think my accent has softened a lot - I've spent 3 times as much of my life in England as I did in Scotland. When I go back home I find I can't understand a word anyone says to me for the first couple of days, and they all complain about how English I sound.

Ah yes, I remember asking you on the phone Paul - 'Can you understand this accent? Are you sure?' But you did, perfectly.

You sounded exactly like a young Professor, very precise and curious and quiet-spoken and well mannered. You were worried about your English and I remember thinking hang on, this guy speaks English better than a lot of natives I've heard. [akiss]
