A little bit of info on the song.......

It's title is 'One For My Baby (and One More For The Road)' and was written in 1943 by Harold Arlen (music) and Johnny Mercer (lyric).

It was originally sung by Fred Astaire in the musical film, 'The Sky's The Limit' and later made popular by Frank Sinatra.

Might be worth adding that it's the tale of a relationship told to the bartender by a man propping the bar at closing time.He might be a drunk but he has some nobility...
Sinatra's 1958 version is one of the classic recordings of music,done with solo piano (basically-bit of orchestra creeps in here and there).It encapsulates the atmosphere of the lyrics to perfection,at a much slower tempo than Stina's version,for example.
It might also be the song that started the 'torch' genre,since it contains the lines:-

'Well, thats how it goes
And Joe I know youre gettin' anxious to close
So thanks for the cheer
I hope you didnt mind
My bending your ear

But this torch that I found
Its gotta be drowned
Or it soon might explode
So make it one for my baby
