I know i've mentioned this in the past but when Dave and I met up a few years ago for the first time,we compared Stina's signature in our respective books, because we,or perhaps I should say I, wasn't entirely sure if the signature was pre-printed or not.
It seemed so neat and finely written that it didn't look (to me) as if it had been written in person.

just a couple of small comments around this project that is still close to our heart:
elfy actually has two copies, however strangely enough, we cannot retrieve anyone that actually bought three (even over several orders). the cqd team kept one signed copy, stina received one unsigned copy.
and yes, each signature by stina on the 25 copies is unique.

and for elisabeth (blue): your story wasn't included in the first phase because we had too much material at the same time. when we closed the entry time for material, we went through everything to make sure it was included. it was at that stage we added yours. and oh yeah, it was a challenge, but a healthy one, i actually enjoyed reading your story again just a couple of weeks ago.

i think i understand where the fuzz after the release came from, but keep in mind the context of bringing together artwork and stories from so many different angles into one (preferably coherent) book, with then each contributor having a certain set of expectations on the result.
i can only say we really tried our best.

I guess its human nature that we were all rather protective (probably over protective?) of our own contributions and couldn't at the time stand back and see the project as a whole.

Its like being shown an old school class photo....who is the first person you naturally look for?

I'm so glad we were given that opportunity to collaborate with CQD,Stina and each other. It was a very unique project.

One aspect that wasn't fully appreciated at the time was the books unique design.
Veronique,I recall in a PM that you mentioned that it was inspired by a Japanese design.....can you explain further please?

Vero,I think the book is great,I just can't read some of it.
The seller has 'uk' in his moniker which leads me to suspect that he/she is from United Kingdom (or Ukraine? or Uzbekistan? ).

Thanks for that, Veronique - I've been feeling a bit awkward about it since I realised what the design of the book actually was, I can well imagine how difficult it must have been to work it in when the design had already been settled. I just wish I'd realised at the time, because I'd have written something much shorter. From what I can see on the auction site, the aesthetic of having brief bits of text overlaid with the pictures works really well in fact, and seems very in keeping with Stina's creative aesthetic.

It was quite a unique project and I think we all felt very excited and happy to be a part of it - I know it's the only time I've ever submitted anything I've written for the perusal of other people, and it was purely because I love Stina's work so much and this little community of people who feel the same. Regardless of any perceived issues after the fact, I think we are all proud to have been involved.

Definately.

It all seems such a long time ago now and yet the book was themed with Stina's last album.

Stina,if you're reading this,we desperately need a new album sooner rather than later.

That is strange.
Just to make clear,the page that was copy numbered and signed was (the unnumbered) page 4, which is best described as the copyright page. The final line should read ' printed with kind permission of a walk in the park,sweden.'

It was to the right of the word 'sweden' that Stina added her signature.
The facing page (5) has a colourized Stina picture (as in my username image) with 'the CQD book' written across in red.

I thought about doing that too and then I hesitated....I'm not sure it would be a positive thing to have Stina's signature on open view....it might encourage a whole wave of forged Stina items?

Someone has bid on it. Hope they're not disappointed. Although they might think it's rather wonderful...

We'll probably never know what they'll think of it although if it ends up on eBay again in the next week or two I guess that would be a good clue.

A second bidder has won it for £25.07 (+ £4 p&p).
