Just got what appears to be the "The Elgar Sisters" 1986 demo tape, in mp3 format.

The songs are amazing!!! The vocals sublime!

S?dasta ?g, St?g?u mig and Gl?ra were released on 'Debut' singles.

This means that you have all the 11 tracks from the demo? I must check with my bf who was a huge Bjork fan and see if he hasn't yet.

New interview where she says she's going to collaborate with her partner Matthew Barney for the soundtrack of his next film.

Taken from Bj?rk.com:
"Bj?rk will be releasing a special DVD edition of her recent album, the critically acclaimed, million-selling and Grammy nominated album ?Med?lla?. Featuring a documentary filmed through the recording of the album, all the incredible videos filmed for the album and the whole album audio in 5.1 surroundsound."

According to this statement Medulla is sold at least a million copies. Clearly Bj?rk stays a high profile artist selling loads inspite of more difficult and less commercial albums like "Homogenic", "Vespeterine" and "Medulla".

The Army of Me cover project has been presented at Bj?rk.com. All money made with this album will go to Unicef. You can listen to samples here:

Anyone heard the new album/soundtrack? I've read very good things about it,it sounds quite experimental,in the vein of Medulla (which I, along with very few others it seems,enjoyed).Praise be for her courage anyway.
I had a dream the other day where I was at a party with a headache and everyone started singing 'The Anchor song'(although it sounded more like one of those skyrocketting vocal things off 'Medulla') as a kind of massage for me.It was lovely!!

I downloaded it last week.

I have yet to really listen closely to it, but it's far better than Medulla. But then, maybe that doesn't say much?

"Storm" AKA Nameless is amazing - with Leila and all.

I dunno. I do like some of the songs on "Drawing Restraint 9" but I don't quite know where to put it in the context of "Bj?rk". As a whole the project is definitely interesting (c?mon it's Bj?rk after all) but since the music was made as a "second half" to the visuals of the movie, sometimes I feel that they fall flat on their own. In other words ... this "album" has a lot of fillers. It's not always great. But songs like "Gratitude", "Ambergris March" and "Storm" do surprisingly well on their own. Not as well as the songs on "Selmasongs" but we must remember that on that project the songs were the motor of the movie ... in this one they're just backdrops.

One of the things I like the most about Bj?rk is that she is really good at creating a continuum with her work. Every album is a response and a reflection of the previous one. In that respect "Drawing Restraint 9" is more like a little exploration on the side than a continuation or a "reaction" to Med?lla. I guess I don't see it as "the new Bj?rk album" but as a side project of sorts. Several things give away that Bj?rk herself doesn't consider it "her next album" either. For instance, she's not on the cover and the record has the same name as the movie.

Hehe ... this was gonna be my 2cents and it turned out to be quite the review instead.

I can't quite decide whether bjork's just finally lost it, or if she's just gone away to a place that i can't quite follow her to. i like a few of her songs on Medulla, but too many of them i just CANT STAND. it's not like i haven't been a loyal Bjork fan in the past, all the way back to the sugarcubes and before. i used to be, in fact, obssessed, but i just don't see what i did in her now.
i'm among the ones hoping for 'something better' in the next album, not for her to go back to the way she was before, but come back to the planet. I respect and admire vey much the fact that she changes a bit with every album, but i don't however agree that each album is a reflection of the last.
I'm very happy i received Medulla as a gift and didn't have to spend my money on it. Though i feel bad i dont like it, the man that gave it to me knew i loved bjork and bought it for me. My cd collection is a reflection of my character...so i gave it to my brother;) yeah, i see Medula as a failed experiment. But more power to the lovers of it!

and by the way: curse you all for getting "Toxic" stuck in my head. lol. It's definitley a good dancing/clubbing song, but as much as i like it, i'll never full admit it, especially after that night of my Eed up friends playing it over and over and over "one more time" turned to about 20. seriously.

oh, and why is it every forum i go to has so many Bjork fans? i just find it strange. Her and Tori Amos. At least i know many of their fans have good taste...
