Oh yeah, but then you could say that about most rock/pop stuff. Musical substance on an academic level isn't what matters in that world, it's about the particular energy an artist brings to what they're doing, and Florence is great on that level - she brought a fresh, vivid, uplifting feel to her music that made it stand out from the crowd. She's not doing anything new, just like most other rock artists, but what she does has her individual stamp on it and in the rock world, that's what sets you apart as a 'substantial' artist.

It'll be interesting to see how she progresses. I have a feeling she'll be around for the long term.

Ah well, things have to satisfy me musically as well. Heart, gut- and head.

Its funny that i should have 'Lungs' & 'Smiling & Waving' in my cd collection and that to be honest i don't remember anything on either of them.
Both seemed pretty anonymous albums but i will check them out again.

Yeah, of course. I'm sometimes quite glad I don't know much about the formal aspect of music.
