people are strange...
but i hope you will eventually also be able to value the good things of a relationship past. life changes continuously although it may seem hard. I'm sure you'll pull through..
and Coral, i really admire the things you share here and it's good to share some things like this. It really feels like people understand you here

Don't worry about that... we're patient over here. Just enjoy what's happening, go with the flow.

Like Coral has written here before me: she clearly wasn't worth having you Alex. You're a nice and wonderful bloke.

I can understand that you won't react to these messages. The whole breaking-up situation is fucked up. It's like wanting to be grown-up people, behaving polite, when all you want to do is slam the door, be angry or cry.

Thank you all for your nice words and your support !
No message from her today....So it's nice as it helps me to forget our short but so great relationship. Time to find another date with a better girl now

actually it sounds like she's trying to rescue her conscience...it sounds like she's trying to keep you as a friend in case she changes her mind later....
it feels like she's not worth it, she's exploiting you. but it would be interesting to hear her sort out her confused mind. i think i've done what she's done before, break up with someone nice without half a thought. this person is unconscious of what she's doing. just be friends.

Alex, just my two cents' worth - don't give up on this girl just yet. For a lot of people, getting involved with someone when you sense that it could be a very serious relationship IS a scary thing. I was terrified when I first started seeing Dom, because my instinct told me almost straight away that this was The One. I was very offhand with him at first as a consequence, and I think I could quite easily have given in to my own fears and walked away.
Sometimes people need time to adjust and come to terms with their fears. Give her a chance. Maybe she just needs to ease into this relationship gradually. You can't possibly know for sure after only a week. If it turns out that she really isn't interested, well, then you know it wasn't right anyway and you can move forward with your own life. But it would be a shame to let what may just be her initial fear of getting involved too deeply dictate what happens, don't you think?
Anyway, courage, my friend. [kisses]

Eliza thank you for your advices, and I found out you were right

After reading your reply I decided to contact her (it was not easy at all for me) and we talked about the break up and I asked if she did this because she was scared to be involved again. She admitted some nice things about our relationship and now she asked me few days to give an answer as she still needs to think about it.
To be honest i'm not angry even if she hurt me so I just expect something positive for now

And even if we don't date anymore of course we can still be friends !

Alex,
Perhaps your girlfriends parents have suffered a marraige break down or perhaps one of her friends has suffered a traumatic split after a long relationship,or even your girlfriend herself in a past relationship........so following on from what Beth was saying, your girlfriend could be associating a serious long-term relationship with unhappiness?
She's pre-empting problems that don't (yet?) exist and its making her twitchy.

I guess everyone is scared at a time or another to get involved in a long-time relationship. I was some months ago...
We certainly have to take enough time to know each other, kill some fears, and then carry on...
good luck Alex

I called her tonight and now i'm sure it's over.
And in fact i'm not too sad about this for now and maybe it's better like this.
Enough secrets for now, I already told too much [:xx]

Time to work again on my fave topic : weird news [king]

Ah well, I'm sure she has her reasons Alex, and maybe you're taking the right attitude. I hope next time things work out more happily for you.
