I'm sort of opposite the way i evaluate music. An artist can be as eloquent as can be, but if the music is boring, i probably wont be interested.

But, Stina is completely sonically interesting, and a brilliant lyricist to boot.

I don't think I can vote (?), but I've never really liked Alan Bean.

I love 'The Return of Alan Bean' as a piece of writing - 'A step on the moon and his future was ruined' is one of my favourite Stina lines. Brilliant.

I think Alan Bean's the song that suffers most from the production on that album.

I guess I'm too late to vote, but I definitely would've voted for "Soon After Christmas". Don't stone me! *covers head with arms*

I don't like the music, I don't like the harmonizing Stina layers in and I can't get into the lyrics. The "slightly disappointed" verse strikes me, but it's not enough to keep me from skipping the track as soon as I hear the hit of the first two piano keys.

Can you people really vote out Alan Bean??? How can you! It has the catchiest beat on the album! The lyrics I guess I relate to, seeing as every so often in life I have to take a step back and look at my life... and I feel like a stranger, everythings new.

The idea that you should never experience your 'dream come true' because after that there's nothing else to reach for.... it's depressing. All that in such a carefree sounding song, and I love irony.

Then, the random jazz part at the end of each chorus, It almost makes me laugh, but in a warm, loving way. I'll listen to it on the way home.

i agree with you on 'Alan Bean'; very well said... I also like the dance remix i have of that song. But i disagree with you on 'Soon after Christmas'. I like the loneliness it expresses and the lyrics. plus i like the piano i guess it's a difference in taste there...
