I seem to be in the minority for liking Trainsurfing....

Difficult but my vote goes to Welcome To Happiness.

I just realized The Diver was voted off. It's a shame too, it's one of my favorite songs of hers.

And in my opinion the guitar bits don't ruin the song, they add to it. The entire song is about failing at relationships and without the tension they provide, it'd just be somewhat cloying.

As I see it, each guitar bit represents one failure and there's just so much tension and conflict there. The background drums sort of seem like steely breaths, somewhat. Anyway. I'm done blathering but I feel it wouldn't be right without them.

That's an interesting observation actually, hadn't even occurred to me. If you're right, then yes they are an integral part of the song psycholgically.

I really like every song on This Is. So Lee is definitely my favorite, I love the island vibe. But Trainsurfing isn't that bad, it's like Stina disco

And I LOVE the Diver, the guitar refrain is awesome.

Completely missed those battles too ! grrrr.....

There is only one Stina song that makes me cringe as soon as it starts:

I swear, I hear "Lori Glory" and I run, I break things, I trip and fall....all to get to the cd player fast enough so I don't have to hear that keyboard saxaphone sound!!! I hate it.

I do, however, like the fact that it's about her being in love with a girl.

I think Diver should go, too. Much worse than Stations!

I love the bass line in Trainsurfing, it's entertaining to play or just tap your feet to. I like the story, too.

Its not that bad........most of whats on the MOAC album is worse.

LG is a jaunty fun song,the feel of which has been beautifully captured by the accompanying video. Whenever i hear the song now I immediately think of the guy with his head stuck through the wall and the little girl jumping up and down on the bed sending feathers flying in the air.

I *love* Lori-Glory. I love how the upbeat jauntiness of the music contrasts with the seriousness of the lyrics. I love the sax.
