Are those boots? My boots-radar isn't going off, I suspect those are just knee-high socks. Very popular with the young ladies at the moment, for some weird reason.

I don't think anyone could eclipse Stina's style, you know. Her taste in boots is bordering on the spiritual, for me.

They look like socks to me as well.

My partners 16 year old daughter wears these long black / white (or red /white) alternating banded socks which to my mind look like old rugby socks.

Yep, my daughter (24 years old) wears the knee-high socks when she goes out on the town, as do all her friends. Looks so odd to me. Incredibly, they're all into legwarmers as well - those hideous things we used to wear with our leotards in the 80s as we did aerobics so we could pretend to be Jane Fonda.

Even more bizarrely, the ra-ra skirt has come back. Kate came downstairs wearing one the other day and I nearly fell off my chair. She proceeded to pair it with my old denim jacket from when I was 16, which has been hanging in the wardrobe all these years. She was ecstatic when she found it - 'my god, it's REAL 80s!!!'.
