Hmm, there are some many possible tracklists. Mine would not include any of PAS.

What's the capacity of a cd these days, about 80 minutes? I might put mine together tomorrow. I have a feeling it's going to be all about the strings.

ah! then we have the old chestnut - do we have to include all the singles and bung on a b-side / rarity to woo those who already have all the albums, or are we allowed to be a little more adventurous... i suppose it's a choice between 'the best of...' and 'a beginner's guide to...'

although i admire the concept of PAS, i too would be loath to include anything ( except maybe the title track). it's also bad for business, having to pay royalties to someone other than SN!

Let us not forget that PAS includes a song by Stina
So you could have that one on yer comp.
I hate compilations...well I never buy them anyway.

'Come To Me' is definitely on my Stina compilation.

It's all looking quite sombre and spare so far - Alone At Night, A Walk In The Park, So This Is Goodbye, Murder In Mairyland Park, Little Star, I See You, Fireworks, Proposal, Mary Bell, This Time John, Almost A Smile, Come To Me, Clothe Yourself For The Wind, Stations, The Morning Belongs To The Night, The World Is Saved.

I have a feeling the only person who'd buy it is me.

I'd say be a little more adventurous. Look at "Tales of a Librarian" of Tori Amos. A lot of those tracks wouldn't have been chosen by the recordcompany because they were never released as a single. Still this was a good compilation that truly displayed the diversity of Tori.

I think 'Tales of a Librarian' was interesting in that the artist chose the tracklist, and it could be fascinating to see what Stina would choose to represent her work, and what criterion she would use. Tori's rationale for a ..... surprising tracklist, shall we say ..... was that she wanted to tell a story for her daughter, and whilst it may have great personal relevance for her, I feel like a lot of fans that it doesn't give the best picture of what she's done. It's a highly enjoyable album in itself, though.

I'm guessing that Stina would also come up with a tracklist to cause some debate within her fanbase. It's so interesting how artists judge themselves, the things they see as their own strengths and weaknesses compared to how those who receive the art experience it.

It?s out in august according to the label, but wil probably be delayed for a while. Let's say this fall sometime... Go ask at Record Hunter (for those in Stockholm), they tend to have some info on Stina?s doings...

Any release in the next four months would be very welcome.

According to the Norw. newspaper VG a new album is set for a October release (it's included in their new fall releases list, published today).
