The UK papers today reported Zidane's public response to the whole incident - he apologised to 'all the children of the world' who saw his behaviour on TV, and acknowledged that it wasn't the right way to deal with the situation, but refused to apologise to Materazzi whom he claims repeated his offensive remarks about Zidane's mother and sister several times.

Materazzi continues to deny he said anything sexist, racist or political.

I love the fact that Zidane's official punishment for his offence is to be banned from his next three matches. Considering he retired after the last one.
