There's been some negative reaction on @ (predictably ), mostly because she apparently made a comment a while ago along the lines of 'Mark wants me to stop touring', so of course this is grist to the mill for the Husband-Haterz. Some are seeing it as yet another incidence of him interfering in her creative life to the detriment of her work, ie 'Mark wants more sonic space in my music = Caton gets kicked out', 'Mark thinks I should stop writing about pain and be strong instead = DramaTori gets kicked out and replaced with MellowTori', etc etc. One does wonder at times about the amount of influence his thinking about her work seems to have.

Realistically though, I don't think she could continue with the huge tours much longer even if she wanted to. The physical toll on her is too much, now. She looked so frail when I saw her in London, thinner than I've ever seen her. Getting herself into the sort of condition she needs to be in to play the way she does is clearly taking its toll on her.

Just found this link to a recent press conference in Israel, where Tori is playing live for the first time, I think.

You have to sit through a weird Israeli advert for Fiat cars, first but the interview is rather interesting - she talks about the night that RAINN was founded and the particular incident that sparked it off, about how the women of America have failed to wake up and realise the danger they're in from the Christian fundies in the Administration, about how her fifteen year old niece's generation have no clue about womanhood in any context other than the Christian stereotypes .... made me realise that for her, this Greek archetype concept has a real, personal relevance. She's obviously genuinely concerned about that generation of girls, and trying to reach them with the 'dolls'.

I love it when she forgets what she's doing. I also love the way the real, funny Tori breaks through the concept.

She played Almost Rosey, which I remember you saying is one of your faves off ADP, and the awesome Tubular Bells version of Devils and Gods. It's worth listening to this show just for the encores as well, hopefully they'll include them in the programme.

I'm sure you'll have a good time, even though you don't like much of ADP. The staples are sounding good, there's a lot more energy to this tour than the '05 one.

First show of the US leg is on Monday, right? I hope she's had a good long rest while she's been off, she'll need it for this leg.

So true, especially with T - I mean I was incredibly disappointed by The Beekeeper and was worried by the reports coming from the solo tour, but when I actually saw her I loved it, she blew me away as always.
