in the UK half of us call what we have for an evening meal 'tea', the rest call it 'dinner'. Those who call the evening meal 'tea' call the lunchtime meal 'dinner'.
Kind of a class thing, Alex, typically British.

I think it's a north/south thing as well - when I was a child in Scotland it was dinner midday and tea in the evening, when we moved to the south of England it was lunch midday and dinner in the evening.

Nowadays for me it's 'oh good I can afford to eat a meal today!!'.

Actually, i'm surprised that Beth is still so obsessed with those white boots, especially after the 'welcome to happiness' film showed them to be a pair of cheap lace-up canvas boots......the sort of material the sacks we use in my shop are made of. [b)]

Ah, a mere three days into my week off and all the tension and stress are melting away. Spent last evening looking after my grandson while his parents went out for a Valentine's meal, my daughter had a few drinks for the first time since he was born and ended up laughing so much her chap had to bring her home.

Rocco is getting so big now, he's doubled his birth weight in 16 weeks and has just started having solid food, though he doesn't quite know what he's supposed to do with it yet. He's outgrown all his 3-6 months clothes and is now in 6-9 months size, he's going to be a tall lad methinks.

Sons invariably outgrow their Mums. My son is about to overtake me and then he has about an inch more to catch up with his Mum.
They grow up fast too-Robin (15 now) is going to Africa on Friday to help at a kindergarten in The Gambia for a week. One of the amazing trips they get together at his school. He's been working in our local shop to raise funds, and touching all his relations for a bit of moolah. Especially his parents. Cost us an arm and a few legs, but well worth it. He's making up for my lack of travel, I've hardly been anywhere abroad.

Next year he wants to do the World Challenge-to Peru and the Amazon for a month.
'Down t'mine, lad', I said. Preferably a gold mine.

Daughters do as well, sometimes - I'm 5ft 2 and my girl had caught up with me by the time she was 10. She's 5ft 7 now, so yes I suspect little Rocco is going to surpass her by some way.

Wow! That's incredible, what an amazing opportunity for him at such a young age. Gosh. He's a very lucky lad, I hope he enjoys it. I'm sure he'll never forget it.

So yay, I finally got my daughter's old camera yesterday, and I've just successfully uploaded some of her photos of Rocco on to my laptop. Can anyone advise me how I upload pics on to the board, now?
