More news : I leave on monday and the surgery is planned tuesday, I have to stay at the hospital 1 week then I will move for a week to my father's house as I will not be able to walk... But everything will be fine... I hope

Well it's good that you'll have your family looking after you anyway, it'll be a chance for the parents to fuss over you and you to be a kid again. You've been in for surgery a couple of times now, if I recall? I don't know how you cope with it so calmly, I'm a nervous wreck with anything medical. I have to have an ECG done on Monday morning and I've been quietly panicking about it for the last ten days, imagining all sorts of horrors. They'll have to shoot me full of sedatives to get the bloody thing done.

We should rename this thread 'Yay! Off to .... hospital'.

I failed an ECG test once. I had to go to the hospital for another one, and they asked me scary questions about whether there was a history of heart disease in the family. But then they said they couldn't find anything wrong and didn't know what the problem could have been with the original test.

Crikey, we're a healthy bunch at the moment, aren't we.

I also have to have what my doctor called 'baseline' blood tests tomorrow morning? I'm not allowed to eat or drink from midnight until the blood is taken. Someone told me it's when they take several lots of blood to run a whole bunch of diffeent tests on. I should have asked the doctor I suppose but I'm hopeless in these situations.

I'm really worried about the ECG though, I talked to someone at work who's had one done and she said she was left lying naked from the waist up for 20 minutes while they ran the print out. Um, I'm sorry, but I'm not even comfortable being topless in front of my husband never mind complete strangers! If I have to strip off I'm not having it done, simple as.
