I was already surprised it would be released in spring; Autumn seems much more fitting for a Stina album to be released. In what month were the other albums released? Anyway, another long wait, good thing the weather is nice

I've posted several times it seems, because the forum was giving me troubles....

6 months..... I was at least hoping for a single soon.

She could well have finished the album after 'Coming Soon' as well

Maybe the delay in the new album this time round is due to Stina setting up a world tour to promote it?

Nah,it's to give her enough time to source a new range of wigs,false noses,prosthetic limbs,boots etc.

What we need to do is bomb all record companies out of existence, then artists will be forced to put their work up for direct download on websites, with us lot paying them directly through Paypal or summat. Cut out the middle man, the delays, the wrangling, the expensive marketing that the artist ends up paying for half the time, etc etc.

Seriously - if Stina was to put the new album on the forum tomorrow, how many of us would be quite happy to pay her directly for the download? I know I would. And I'd spread the word all over the net into the bargain, as would we all I'm sure. We could do a better job of promoting her than any record company she's been with thus far.

To be honest I would be disappointed if Stina went down that line.

I really don't like listening to music via the computer no more than I do via the tv or a portable radio. I have a perfectly good music seperates system which has served me well for several years now and gives me an excellent well balanced sound.

I fail to see the point of artists recording music on expensive equipment in expensive studios only to ignore decades of sound quality improvement and end up having their music shoved down telephone wires and out via sub-standard PC speakers and MP3 players and the like.

So long may record companies have their artists musical output distributed by factory manufactured vinyl and cds.

I tend to agree with RobB-,also for the pleasure in owning the object itself with the artwork etc.Things will never be as good as in the LP era where the cover was often as much the object of desire as the music,but I'd still rather have a proper sleeve and a physical object rather than a file on a computer or mp3 player.
It has to be said that the way Beth advocates is the way things are going,fast,and in many ways it's no bad thing with the artist much more in control of the product.

Like everything else there are pros and cons to downloading and its certainly opened up the obtaining of music.
And it has wrestled away the power of record companies to mess the consumer around.

But yes, I do prefer my music to be stored in a more physical format.....and I definately don't like to hear my favourite artists new music in advance via the internet.

Even during the CQD days when they had 'exclusive' plays of Stina's music on their radio shows, I always refused to listen.

I read an interview of Stéphane Amiel, the director of an only-women festival here in France (Les Femmes s'en Mêlent) and he says that every year he tries to have Stina at his festival. It's improbable, but with all this insistence, I hope one day she'll surrender.

Well,if she ever agrees,it will be totally agonising for all us males.
I'd be compelled to get out my drag gear.
