Um, hang on ..... what's happened?
Dan, I hope you're OK mate - I didn't actually realise you'd posted any new songs, if that's what this is about. I rarely even look at other sections of the board these days, so I'm sorry if you thought people were ignoring them, I bet people just hadn't noticed yet.
Anyway I hope you feel better soon, and as to deleting your profile, well you know I've been there and done that when I was feeling really low, and all I can say is that when I felt better again I totally regretted deleting my contributions to the board. You've made some great contributions particularly in the movies and music topics, I'd be sorry to see them go.

Hope you all have a good New Year whatever you're doing! I'm babysitting The Terror tonight so I shall be celebrating with nothing stronger than a nice cup of vanilla tea.

Totally agree Beth, it would be a great shame to lose those old posts....plus any future contributions from Daniel, I hope he does post again soon.
I couldn't listen to Daniel's Sound Cloud contributions unfortunately as i can't get them to play. Hopefully he can place them on YT in the near future which is far more user friendly.

Hm, strange about Daniel. He asked us to comment on hs latest stuff a few days back; (I demurred because I'm afraid that everything I've heard by him previously did the opposite of floating my boat). But there wasn't much time to respond, plus it's that time of year when nobody has time.
Beth, how quickly has the sweet grandchild become The Terror???!!!

Stopping by to wish a Happy New Year to Rob, Dave, Alex, Beth, Paul, and anyone else who might be around! In 2012 I resolve to have zero bin Laden-type hairflips.

Ha, since he got up on his feet! He's not just walking now but running, he tears around the place like a little dynamo, into everything. His favourite thing at the moment is switching the washing machine on and setting the timer on the cooker.
On the adorable side, he says 'oh dear!' and 'yay!' now.

If he ever suddenly disappears don't panic....check inside the washing machine, check inside the cooker.
Its amazing how many kids have been found in washing machines in particular.

Sounds like a fun time you're having watching your grandson Beth! I really adore my nephew of 2 years old. You can talk with him about simple things and explain things. I really love the way he enjoys the world and gets puzzled by things.
I'm not really active here at the moment, just reading a bit. Busy at work (soon a lot of people will lose their jobs, and I'm possibly one of them) and with the preparations of my wedding. Just two weeks now... And after that I'll be travelling to New York again. Can't wait, I just love that city (and luckily my boyfriend too).

Preparing for a wedding whilst potentially losing your job isn't the best of timings but I wish you all the best Paul. Here's hoping the former will be a happy event whilst the latter turns out to be a non-event. Enjoy NYC.

Frankly I'm not too worried about losing my job. I've been a manager for nearly six years now. It has been a great experience and I've learned a lot. I really hope I get fired. It would mean they would have to pay me a yearlong salary. And that would enable me to go back to school and become a teacher at a primary school. I really want to contribute more to the world, than I'm doing now....
I'll bore you with stories about NYC when I'm back.

Why not ask your bosses to release you under a voluntary severance scheme rather than wait for them to terminate your employment?

Believe it or not, I've asked for that. But my boss want to keep me in the company. She even offered me a promotion. She just doesn't understand why I would choose a job for which I get paid less, just for own satisfaction. So they're not really willing to let me go.

You're too good for your own good,Paul.
I actually had the same problem with my last job. When we heard the company were making cutbacks, several of my colleagues and myself decided we wanted to go under the VSS. The company however wanted to keep us (we were all experienced hard workers) and instead wanted to get rid of the more (shall we say) lazy workers, who naturally didn't want to lose their jobs. The unions got involved and there was a big to do about it all but in the end we got our way and were let go by the company.

Paul, I hope you have a happy, wonderful wedding day! Will NYC be your Honeymoon? I've never been, but would love to see it someday.
