Desire Avenue

As I had absolutely no desire to sit through Kylie Minogue's White Diamond doco with my partner, I opted to see another less brain damaging film, The Brave One. (It was either that or Resident Evil: Extinction, and 90 minutes of Milla trying to act would have driven me nuts too)

I actually really really enjoyed it. Jodie Foster was excellent as ever, and it really made you think about what you would do it you were her. (I also loved her little reference ot Taxi Driver in the mirror of the pub bathroom )

Really worth seeing!

Maybe she should stick to making albums as her first one was excellent.

I rather like Jodie Foster (ever since 'Paper Moon') but her movies are very hit and miss. For every 'Panic Room' there is toe curling efforts like 'Contact'.

I'll probably wait for 'The Brave One' to come to dvd though.....I like my home comforts and the cinema experience these days hold no attraction for me.

I watch everything she does as a given, I love her. This film looks, at first glance, not my kind of thing, but one would assume it must have a bit of substance to it if she's chosen to be in it. I'll wait for the DVD with interest.

The film gives so much to think about, particularly with regard to how unsafe day to day living has and can become. Some of the reviews put it in the same catagory as Falling Down, which I must say is totally wrong.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and even more so because there were only about 10 people in the cinema!!!
