This coming Sunday i'll be bravely setting off for London's O2 arena to see The Osmonds in concert. or should that be ?
Its part of my other half's birthday present so naturally i'll have to attend to.....with cotton wool at the ready.

Jesus.I never thought I'd see a thread devoted to The Osmonds.
With all that polygamy,there must be hundreds of them now.

Well,they're all supposed to be performing Dave so hopefully there won't be more on the stage than in the audience?

Surely love has to have some boundaries!!! For me it is the utter refusal to attend a Kylie Minogue concert no matter how much the other half begs, pleads and toddler tantrums. Even alcohol couldn't make that enjoyable for me

For my partner it was the utter refusal to go and see Dawn Of The Replicants in concert back in 1998, no matter how many buildings I levelled to prove their worth!!

Now The Osmonds?????!?!?! That's just CrUeL!!

It's like going to see a reformed Transvision Vamp or T'pau in concert, only worse....

yeah,going to see the Osmonds is a bit cruel isn't it?

I'm beginning to think that Sunday evening at the O2 arena is going to be worse than a year in the dungeons of CQD Towers!!

No,there was no support act in fact so we were spared Mr Cassidy & co.

Hokey dokey,well piss-taking set aside,it was actually a very enjoyable show by a group of what you would call consummat professionals.They havn't been around (in some form) for 50 years for nothing.
All the main Osmonds were there and they all had a chance to take the spotlight.

I won't giv etyou a blow by blow account of the entire show but amongstt the highlights was 'Crazy Horses', Marie Osmonds solo set,during which she picked a guy from the audience to join her on stage to dance and sing a duet....which he proceeded to do....badly.
There was a nice use of live-feed cameras for the backing screens,so you could see close ups of the stage action and of the audience.
Soft toy balls that had rolled off the stage in a previous number were thrown (good naturedly) at Donny when he sang the 'Please help me' line in 'Puppy Love'

Under pressure from more ball throwing,he stopped one song to gather up a load of them to throw back at the audience. All good fun.

Sound wise,the ballads came across the best,especially 'Love me for a reason' which was the encore......arenas aren't really the best venues for sound and the o2 arena isn't much different....a lot of the up-tempo numbers sounded harsh and messy.

Kate loved it and for a couple of hours anyway she was back to being a teeny-bopper again.

The Osmonds are now heading for Australia......look out guys.
