I grew up watching x-files and have very fond memories of staying up late with my mom to watch episodes and get a little creeped out. So I'm not a hardcore fan or anything, i just have really nice memories associated with The X-files, therefore have a soft spot for it.
That being said, I just saw the new movie tonight.. . . ... and you know how the series had some episodes that were really intense and gave you a lot and were rewarding, but there were some episodes that were a little slower? Well, this movie was like a really slow, long, dull episode. :/
I was a little disappointed. It was still good, but not half as good as I had hoped it would be.
But Gillian Anderson looks amazing, and I love anything Amanda Peet does, so were it not for them I would have been a lot more disappointed.

i'll watch the dvd release for sure, as I know this cannot be a great movie. the first one was bad and the second one seems to follow this path.

Yesterday I bought the series 1,2,3 & 4 dvd boxsets of the tv series. 
Now i've just got to find the time to watch the 100 episodes. [b)]
