I found this bit of a post by old member Fog among the archived remains of the Barbieboard,relating to the original 'Sharon and Hope' single,which he somehow (allegedly) managed to get a copy of in Greece.'Sharon' came out later on with different artwork,but does anyone know about the picture Fog alludes to? Does anyone have a copy of it?

'It features Stina in a black and white photo looking demurely at the camera holding something like a photo-frame which says: Stina Nordenstam "Sharon&Hope".
The CD shows that kind of halogen circular look like a halo lamp which features on the cover of "This is..."

In nearly seven years I don't remember ever seeing a copy come up for sale in any on-line auction site so they must be very rare.
I very much doubt if copies produced made it into double figures.

So how did Fog manage to get hold of one in Greece of all places?
or was it a hoax?

Another Stina 'hoax' perpetrated on these msg boards is the alleged records by Magnus Shoval and Sasha Erikson which Stina is supposed to have sung on.If you Google their names there is nothing. Even the names of the record companies seem to be fictitious.

The fact that 'Walking Too fast' & 'The Thing About Fire' have been circulating between collectors almost since the time 'This is Stina Nordenstam'' was released I think shows that the songs must have existed in some physical form and an in-house cd-r promo (which CQD even listed in their discog) is the most likely format.
I don't think it ever got to being circulated to the media though otherwise copies would have turned up as frequently as the single track 'Sharon & Hope' promo have.

Why Greece?
Why did Kate Bush's home demos of 1976 turn up on a local Arizona radio station broadcast 13 years later? Just as an unlikely story apart from that the radio presenter,John Dixon,was an ex-EMI employee.

Maybe an Independiente staffer was working in Greece.
Maybe Stina went to Greece for a holiday and lost her personal copy?

I've never checked into that Shoval & Erikson record........I wonder if the spelling is correct for their names?

Fog was a con man. He asked someone to volunteer to pay for his copy of the Stina Book, which I gladly did, trusting the small community. He then disappeared, never answering PMs or e-mails. I wouldn't particularly trust that he had some ultra-rare picture....

They were streamed by Stina's people from her Web site during a particularly busy flurry of rare-material streams around the time of "This Is." I imagine any extant copies were/are just stream rips which were subsequently converted to mp3s.

Has anyone ever seen the in-house CD-R? Its picture is around the net on the discogs,eg here:-


Everyone has the tracks,but does anyone actually own that CD-R?

And,of course,it is different from whatever Fog purportedly had,which was a version of Sharon and Hope.

Thinking about it I'm not even sure that the three track S&H promo is even a cd-r.

All the Independiente promo cds I have were all factory pressed (these include 'Quality Product of Sweden' album samplar, 'Welcome To Happiness' full album promo, 'This is Stina Nordenstam' full album promo. 'Lori Glory' single track promo and 'Sharon & Hope' single track promo), I don't think Independiente bother with cd-r's.

As 'Sharon and Hope' had been given a catalogue number and a release date,it seems probably that promos would have been pressed for the three track version as well as the single track version.
Just not in so many copies.

Nope, I tried to lay my hands on one. I only own the samplers of Sharon and Hope and Lori Glory, but those are one track cd's.

I'm too polite to ask how much it cost you buying it from EIL but are you still missing an arm and a leg?
I can only think that they may have temporarily ran out of 'proper' promos of the full album,or maybe the promo wasn't yet quite ready?
Still,I bet you were chuffed having the album up front like that?

Just been checking my promos and in fact the 'Welcome To Happiness' (complete with its inlay card) promo is a cd-r after all as its got that blue-ish colour to it.

Looking at that illustration its suddenly occured to me that there's nothing to link it to being a 'Sharon & Hope' related release.
It seems odd to create a promo cd-r for the 'extra tracks' and not include the main song.

So maybe 'Walking Too fast' ( with 'The Thing About Fire') was scheduled as a non-album single and the illustrated cd-r (assuming that its genuine) was for that cancelled release?

Then 'Sharon and Hope' was added to the single as the main track but only single track promos were made for this release,which was again cancelled.
