Any other artists you hold as high as Stina?

Artistically, none.
Principlly and quality-wise? Juliana Hatfield.
The only other one that hasn't really let me down and stayed in touch with reality. Plus, I'm a sucker for shy, timid women. Simpliy spoken.

I did. I saw her at the Bowery in September and picked that and her new cd up. Also, Hayden opened for her that day and I got their cd, too. I haven't finished the book, though. I have so many other things necessary to read that I haven't had the time. The guy I went with finished it within the 24 hours of the purchase. You finish? What'd you think?
I'm syked to find more artists I have to check out in this thread....

I'd go with PJ Harvey, Scout Niblett, Laura Nyro, Kristin Hersh and Juliana (still waiting for her new album, damn Australia is slow....)

To be honest, there's no one I hold as high as Stina herself. Coming close are Emiliana Torrini and the Kings of Convenience.

I think I value all of my thirty or so favorite artists equally, I couldn't pick one over the other.

Joni Mitchell! Maybe not in the same "department" though. Else, definitely a better writer, a better musician.
Many others in jazz, cinema, and other art forms!

No, haven't got it yet... was just curious... worth the buy I guess ? maybe a future christmas self-present

Awesome. I love the musical tastes that you guys have. I've discovered a bunch of new artists just in this thread. What'll I find whe I search the board? Oh, the possibilities....

And there are dozens of artists in other fields of music that fulfil the criteria for me.
