A VHS of the 'This Is' promo is being advertised on eBay

I've never heard of a VHS of this before,it's not mentioned on any of the Discogs.There is a VHS of 'Lori Glory' but this purports to be the whole album...

Despite its description as being in VHS format, since it was made for playing on Canadian VCR's, would it work on European machines?

Well,it's probably NTSL rather than PAL.My old video player plays both without having to change anything,and it's easy enough to find hacks on the net to reset electronics (eg making DVD players play all regions-usually you just need to press 3 or 4 buttons in the right order).
Anyway I won't be bidding,since I have the DVD. Just thought I'd alert the likes of Kuhn.

North America is always NTSC and Zone 1 for DVDs.

The DVD is pure gold so the VHS is useless in my opinion. So much better to see Stina in hi quality instead of creepy VHS images.

I hadn't realised that vcr's could be reset in the same way as dvd players. I don't think i'd chance trying to alter the settings on my vcr though,not just to play one cassette,which,like yourself,I have on dvd anyway.

Still,it would be a nice unique item to have though.

They were dirt cheap 5 years ago, now they have almost become collector`s items.

I can't understand the trend for getting rid of VHS tapes/players. Yeah,alright you have to do lots of rewinding etc,no big deal.I have loads of VHS tapes and they all still work just fine.Obviously they're not going to last for ever,but then neither am I.
My old Matsui VHS player,bought at Dixons donkey's years ago,still plays anything you throw in it (and my son threw a few jam sandwiches etc in it when he was little.Still works. ) And don't kid me that DVDs last for ever.Be honest,how many DVDs have you had problems with? Plenty,I'll bet.

Really? Coz I've still got mine up in the spare room! No idea if it still works, but I was using it as recently as a couple of years ago, to watch the VHS tapes that were part of my degree course.

Pre-owned models can still purchased quite cheaply in second hand 'pawn style shops' or at car boots here in the UK. New models might be a different matter though.

I've still got my Phillips vcr which i occasionally use to tape off the telly if programmes clash.

I must admit i've had very few problems with dvds actually playing correctly although the 'quality' (or lack of) of the source material is far more apparent than on video tape.
'The Prisoner' dvd box set that i bought last year had been re-mastered and you'd nend to have been totally blind not to see the upgrade in quality. I'm not sure a video tape version would have been as good.

In the end the video tape attracted 2 bids and sold for $11.56 (£7) plus postage.
