Someone has put up a copy of our book on eBay.
£20.99 ,INCLUDING the CDROM (did the CDROM only come with selected books?).Apparently the seller bought 3 copies,not sure whether he/she is selling all three.
It doesn't say whether this is a signed copy (I think the first 25 or so were signed by Stina).

Seems strange to me to find our artwork sold on Ebay...
Anyway, the book is cheap for now so I really recommand to bid it if you don't own it yet.

hey guys,if we offer to personally sign the book ourselves,would it increase or decrease its value?

As Alex says,it does seem strange to see our work being auctioned off like this. Somehow it just seems to go against the community spirit of the project.

It will be interesting to see what it eventually sells for (assuming it does sell) but equally it would be interesting to have seen what a Stina signed copy would fetch?

After all,just how easy is it to obtain Stina's signature

It does feel a bit strange to see 'our' book up for sale on a public site. I can't imagine there will be much if any interest, though. If it sells it'll be one of us that buys it.

I guess it must be somebody who used to post on CQD back in the day? and they're hoping to appeal to a newish Stina fan who maybe doesn't realise that the book was almost exclusively a fan project.

I have to say that I never look at the book except for the pictures/photos (the ones that are clearer),and that very occasionally. The text is just too small and obscured by artwork to make it a pleasure to read. Which is a pity,because there was a lot of good stuff,wasn't there. Luckily I have the original pdf file that V sent out,where everything is separated,but it doesn't,alas,have all the material (eg Beth's story).

I guess the avid fan / collector who has to have everything that features Stina's own work will want a copy,even if it was just one article that Stina contributed. Anyone buying blindly will be sorely disappointed though when they finally get to see all the non-Stina related contributions.

Very likely. We've lost a few old regulars who definitely purchased the book.

Actually from what I can see of the inside pages of the ebay book, I can totally understand now why my story wasn't originally included - all the other bits of writing are very brief, which is more in keeping with the design of the book overall, with text and pictures overlaid. I kind of regret now piping up about it to Veronique, I have a feeling they shoehorned my story in at the last minute because I mentioned it to V. It must have been a bit of nightmare for them to find a way to include it, when it was six sides of A4! It just doesn't fit the aesthetic of the book, they were right to not include it in the original.

I can't recall if I ever sent you a copy of the story, Dave? I've tidied it up a bit since, I can always email you the file if you want. Or if I can figure out how to make it into a PDF file I might post it in the artwork section of the board.

You sent me it,and then I sent it back.We had a little,ahem,misunderstanding around it,if I remember.
So,no,I haven't got it except in the impossible book version,which my deteriorating eyesight can't handle. (I just wasted several hours the other day trying to find a way to print out the insert of Stina's PAS promo,a fascinating interview with her,but in miniscule print on a piece of paper that refuses to fit neatly in any way into a scanner.I finally did it so that I can now read it without recourse to a magnifying glass).
So,yes, put it up here!
(How to make a PDF-press to PRINT your story,in the print dialogue that comes up there should be an option to 'Make pdf'.Well that's how it works on a Mac anyway,I guess it's far more complex on a PC).

Actually I'm remembering some of the things you said in the discussion that came out of that, and now I think you were quite right about certain aspects, like me having a problem with accepting positive responses and so on .... I wish I'd kept all those emails because they would make enlightening reading for me now, I'm sure. I think I'm at a slightly different place now.

The auction page doesn't say anything about the book being signed, does it - I take it then that it's not a copy belonging to any of the contributors? I remember there were only a certain amount signed and they were reserved for contributors.

It's quite sad in a way that someone who was obviously a real fan now feels able to sell the book. Maybe a result of the lack of news over the last few years?

I'm not sure-if you look at what else they're selling,he/she seems to be a bit of a collector of pop/rock flotsam and jetsam,maybe not necessarily a hardline Stina fan.
I think if it was autographed,he/she would make a selling point of it.

I think Stina's signature would at least double,if not triple the value of the book....probably more for the serious collector,so its quite likely that this is one of the unsigned copies.

My signed copy was numbered 6/25 so I assume that meant it was the 6th copy of the 25 copies that were signed,leaving 75 copies unsigned.

I'd imagine numbers 1-3(+) went to Vero and team (would Stina want one of her own autographed copies? [b)] ).
Elfy OUGHT to have had one of the 25,since it was largely his idea, as I recall.

Incidentally nobody has bid on it yet.
