Anyone else seen Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut? I caught it on Film4 very late the other night, thought I'd give it a go because I think Kaufman is a genius writer and a wonderfully compassionate spirit - he's so brilliant at depicting the real human frailties of his characters in a way that makes you want to put your arms around them. I'm so glad I watched this film, I knew in the first couple of minutes I was going to love it.
I won't go into a big spiel about it now in case no-one else has seen it, but it's well worth a watch.

Re: Synedoche, New York.
How do you pronounce 'synecdoche'? I've always wanted to know.

One of the running jokes in the film is the lead character Caden reading the local paper, which is called the Schenectadian. So I guess it's pronounced Schenectady.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman is brilliant in the lead role, god I love that guy.
