Desire Avenue

While I was at WOMAD this year, this song was playing from one of the stalls, so I went over and asked what it was-the (female) singer sounded quite Stina-ish.
The song is called 'Fragile Wind' by Nitin Sawhney. The singer's name is Tina Grace, it seems-but I don't know anything about her.
Oddly enough, I met Nitin Sawhney at WOMAD 15 years or so ago when he came to my stall (I was still making instruments back then) and tried out several instruments for half an hour or so, chatting betweentimes. I think he might have bought a flute- I can't remember now. Anyway this was before he was a 'name', but he gave me his card, which is how I remember.

Thats a lovely song and performance although i could have done without the male vocals at the start and towards the end.
I'll have to check this Tina Grace out as she has a nice voice.
Nitin is a close friend of Paul McCartney these days and has worked with him on a few projects.

Just seen that Tina has a MySpace page.....i'll have to check out her own music when i have more time.
