This is a thread to tribute the weirdest voices in popmusic.
One of my favourite weird voices - besides Stina's voice - is the voice of Amanda Lear. Anyone remembers her here?

Yeah, I remember Amanda Lear . One of my little teenager secret was that I found her extremely sexy, surely her voice 
. Besides she's very intelligent and has an interesting destiny, being close to Salvador Dali among others.
Weird voices? Well, I thing like Diamanda Galas got one for sure, Meredith Monk and of course Yma Sumac. In another register, there's that singer from The Cranes, I don't remember her name.
Among men, Antonin Artaud had one of the weirdest and at some places scariest voices of the universe. On the other side, Will Oldham (Bonnie "Prince" Billie, Palace, etc.) is not bad, surely at the beginning of hs career. John Cale still sounds weird to me. Scott Walker, mainly on "Tilt". And I can't forget to mention Captain Beefheart. Etc.

Also the voice of Vic Chesnutt is quite weird.
And Wirbel, I just looooove that voice of Macy Gray.

Oh Dave...Dont remind me ...I still have nightmares about Nunmonksexrock [:xx] and that was one of her more listenable ?albums.
Also ,there was Lene Lovich...What was that song abouyt a bird ,was it?

I think Napoleon was well-known session bassist Herbie Flowers having a laugh.The B-side had the record backwards.
Later on Mr Flowers joined the late unlamented SKY.He should have stayed in the loonybin. [:o]

I thought that mainly gay people would know Amanda.
She made a few classic tracks you know that are quite good (they would've been more popular if sung by someone else). I still like Follow Me, Blood and Honey and Enigma.
As for Joanna Newsom, I love her weirdo lyrics. But the voice is a bit irritating.

I know her; i think they always play 'snow on a hot day' on the ferry to norway
but i like her accent and voice too and songs like 'twisted little star' and 'girl like me' are great songs.
