We went right through August without a single new thread or posting on the All About Stina board.

If Stina is working on any commercial non-musical projects then they must be very low-key as there doesn't seem to even a whisper of them on the net.

Maybe Beth is right, Stina has retired and we just havn't yet realised it? [b)]

I guess it's never too late to release a new album, it took 10 years for Portishead for the latest record... Anyway it's not very nice of her to let her fans waiting without a single info. SHAME ON YOU STINA!

.....and 12 years for the Kate Bush album Aerial of course.
So i suppose with Stina only coming up to 7 years,its not too long in comparison.

For me the weird thing is that there's absolutely no news of any sort, and hasn't been for about five years. You'd have thought that with the internet and all someone would have had a notion of something, anything she's up to and told the rest of the world, but no.
In one of her interviews she talks about how she always hated attention from the media, and wonders why she didn't change her name. Maybe that's what she's finally done.

Helen McLaughlin's company http://www.mclaughlin.se/ may lead us to a new Stina record one day ? Helen is our last hope to get news.

Helen just replied to my email and there's some good news New material is coming, but slowly so keep your fingers crossed !

Nah, i think you're getting 'coming slowly' mixed up with 'coming soon' Dave? There is a difference you know?

Still, thats great news that Helen replied to your email Alex and that at least something is coming.....sometime.
Problem is both Dave and I are on the wrong side of fifty and are on borrowed time !!!! [censor]

In a not so far future, people may live up to 120-150 years, so let's hope science will make a big jump quick enough for you

I won't hold my breath Alex.
The body might last that long but the old brain will still be going slightly gaga in half that time.

My 1st email to Helen was about the link, and I gave her another one but then we noticed Spotify links are country related . Not broken but not really working, so

Well I don't want to disappoint you but Helen has been saying new material is on the way for a couple of years now. I'm sure that Stina is working on music. I can't really imagine that she would abandon it completely. And with the digital musicmarket it is easier for her to release new music. So I don't see any problems in Stina releasing her music, I really hope that she finishes her latest project....

I don't like the sound of 'digital music market'......my interest will soon disappear unless there is a cd format for the new material.

It might be too expensive for her to produce a CD version if she's really out on her own now, Rob. Manufacturing and distributing a CD costs money that she might not have at her disposal.

I'd love to think another album is coming at some point, and if she was to release it herself I'd happily buy it whatever the format.

I don't think Stina would want to be or needs to be totally on her own. Like with TWIS, i'm sure she'll have a licensing deal with some company who will cover the cost of manufacturing and distributing a cd. Downloads might be cheaper and more cost effective but any artist would have to accept lower sales as a result.
