Hi,
I'm looking for some help....I am working on a short film and would like to use one of Stina's songs on the soundtrack.
Can anyone suggest how I might go about securing a release or approval? I'm having difficulty tracking anyone down on this front.
Any help / advice appreciated....thank you.

Which song were you intending to use?
I guess it will depend on the your country of residence but you will need to call the companies who own the recording and publishing copyrights of the recording/song that you want to use and apply for a recording license and a publishing license.
Unfortunately Stina's work is owned by various companies but the details will be on the album credits.

Do you happen to know who owns the rights in Canada? I'm based in Toronto.

The UK version of Little Star is credited to Telegram Publishing & Telegram Records, Stockholm.
It was issued under exclusive license to Warner Music UK Ltd and I guess it had a similar exclusive deal with the Time / Warner company in North America.

I think you may have to start with Telegram Records in Stockholm though. Being a smaller company you're more likely to get a faster response than trying to deal with a giant company like Warners.
