Nice find Dave.

Even allowing for the text being in Swedish,it doesn't seem to be particularly informative. I can't see mentioned any names for the Flippermen, or song titles, or even mention of the just released 'Memories Of A Color' album. Nice moody photo though.

Here, with the help of an OCR programme and Google, is a kind of translation. (Don't think the reviewer was too struck by Stina...)

More magic with more feeling

Stina Nordenstam & The Flippermen
She is 22 years old. Declared a genius.
And strange.
Stina Nordenstam from Nacka, outside Stockholm, is a small, narrow, strict and precocious.
When she sings, she sits hunched on a stool. When she was not singing, she bowed her head, looking down at the floor.
Between songs she talking drawl, slow and uninteresting.
Even when she sings it becomes drawling and tough - but interesting: a bright, naked and girlish special meeting.
The jazzy music is like a thin shawl over Pipeline and its 60 or so visitors that Sunday night.
Sometimes it is pleasant; chill out tunes from both Stina Nordenstam's mouth that the musicians in the quintet The Flippermen.
But it is seldom so pleasant that we can sit back. The songs flows, disappears, runs off and dissolved. After several minutes, they come back and take hold again.
The song holds together the songs. That's when it falls silent as The Flippermen float away, extremely disciplined, but without contours.
Sometimes, if you close your eyes, it may as well be the American singer Rickie Lee Jones sitting on the stage. So similar are Stina Nordenstam and her biggest idol.
The trumpeter and singer Chet Baker get to be a role model, which is not surprising.
Stina Nordenstam are careful with their sources of inspiration. She is hard at everything she does, except possibly the microphone resting easily in her dainty hand.
The Flippermen often feels like tamed wild dogs. There's an energy, an improvisation skills and a roughness somewhere in there, right in the jazz-rock-compote. Though it may not come out, it looks to Stina. She keeps both its musicians themselves in tight rein.
And maybe it's the discipline and control that makes the music so boring, so there so that you become frustrated and just want someone to let loose, let emotions take over.
Stina Nordenstam will surely go remains far. But I think she would serve to release the reins; ignore the intellectual control and let the music come naturally.
Then it can be emotionally filled. And then it no longer just be comfortable. Then it can be magical.

Meanwhile, I'm wondering whether this is a review of a gig Stina did in the UMEA Jazz Festival (see the timeline)??? that would fit...

That's fairly likely as the UMEA festival ran from 23rd to 27th October 1991 and this review being published on the 29th.
