Possible inspiration for 'The End of a Love Affair'?

Last night I was watching the excellent Neil Jordan directed film 'The End of the Affair' (starring Ralph Fiennes,Julianna Moore & Stephen Rea) on dvd and its made me wonder if seeing this film inspired Stina to write 'The End of a Love Affair'?
Obviously the titles are very similar but it struck me that this could be a film that Stina would enjoy watching.
Filmed in 1999, it was released in the UK on 11th February 2000 and in Sweden on 10th March 2000.
The song would have been recorded before September 2002, when The World Is Saved album was mixed.
Could Stina have seen the film which then inspired her to write the song?
