manus

Post by RobB »

Having recently purchased a copy of Freddie Wadling's final album 'efter regnet', I was naturally curious to see who the publisher was for Stina's songs that appear on the album.

Where the publishing credit would appear at the end of each song lyric (as it does with the non-Stina songs on this album), a single word appears.......manus.

And according to the Discogs website:

"Manus" means there is no publisher known for the composition(s) featured on a release. It is not a publisher, but information about the lack of a (known) publisher.

Manus should be entered as 'published by' on releases, even if it actually means it is published without a (known) publishing company.

How very Stina?

Well it seems reasonably fine enough. If Stina is no longer interested in making music, there will be no reason to go on paying a publisher for their services. These things can be quite expensive.

This would indeed confirm that Stina has retired from music. Although it would deliver a little bit of income to Stina if she kept her publishingcompany active? Now she doesn't even get payed for her Spotify listing, I guess?
