I seem to recall that 'Little Star' had a suicide theme so watching this French television advertisement I did wonder if the mother was going to hang herself with the 'pasta necklace'?

I've seen that before - it's definitely an old ad
Never ceases to amaze me how many people misinterpret the lyrics of that song.

Yeah, from 2003 but I don't think I've seen it on these boards before.

I don't understand your interpretation of the ad.

Mark it down as British sense of humour but it does hinge on the fact that Little Star was about a suicide although that's clearly debatable. I can't even remember now where that view originally came from. I don't think Stina ever confirmed it.

Oh it's a part of the british humour I haven't met yet.
Are you saying it's the "pasta" suicide in this ad? I understand quickly but need long explanations.

yeah, its like if you're going to use a 'suicide themed' (sic) song in an advert, then how about having someone hang themselves with a long necklace made of....pasta !! I love the absurdity of it, like Laurel & Hardy playing 'In the Good Old Summertime' in the middle of Winter.
