Desire Avenue

On Wednesday evening I wasted 2 hours of my life watching SIGNS and I wish I had'nt.It was so terrible.Hackneyed,cliched, slow,wooden acting,actors in a trance like state as if even they couldnt believe the shite they wer eappearing in.
Mel Gibson pretending to be a real actor was pathetic,and I'd read so much about the new wonderful director,M.Night Shamalangadingdong,I was expecting great things .I sure wonnt be wasting anymore of my time watching any of his films,and as for Mel ,he should stick to Mad Max type antics.
So this piece of crappy crap crap would be my nomination for the Dinde d'or (golden Turkey) award for WORST FILM EVER.

A couple off the top of my head
-The madwoman of Chaillot (Katherine Hepburn)
-The singer not the song (Dirk Bogarde)
and,(contentiously)-The cook,the thief,his wife and her lover.Deeply horrid [:xx]

allthough i did dislike 'Signs' i found the other films of M. Night Shyamalan very good; just recently saw the '6th Sense' again and now that i know what the 'clue' is i find the acting and story even better; The Village was very good too, very good acting there too.

On worst films then: i could make a whole list, but here are some i've seen lately that were a complete waste of time: Kill Bill 2 (overrated), Van Helsing (how many wherewolves can you have in 1 movie?) and A.I. (...)

okay mine are rather controversial but I cannot stand being bored by a film...

01. Lost In Translation - sorry Sophia stick with The Virgin Suicides
02. 2046 - I don't care what Cannes say this film is pretentious arthouse hell [fire]
03. Alexander - where to start, Colin's bad wash in tint, Angelina not ageing for 40 years, most of the greek cast having irish accents, shall I continue? [fire]

Honorable mention goes to Troy, which I watched on fast forward in the end..

- 2 fast 2 furious
- Hulk [:xx]
- The singing detective

"dances with wolves" was a great movie, and i kinda liked 'Postman' too; i never quite understood why people dislike Kevin Costner so much...

Now Hugh Grant...theres a man to hate I would list all his films as the worst ever, even though i've never seen one of them,and never will,unless someone kidnaps and tortures me with watching them [cry]

And BTW Dave ,what it is that you dislike about The Cook etc.?
I'm a great fan of Mr. Greenaways work and am intrigued .

The Cook etc-It's the only film I've ever contemplated walking out of-I only didn't because everyone had told me it was a really good film so I was waiting for something good to happen.

Well Dave,if you think "the cook"'s disturbing then I strongly suggest that you never watch his film"The Baby of Macon",possibly THE most disturbing and unwatchable film ever made.,
