Come on down,Nina Nordenstam

Yesterday afternoon i strolled into the Chelmsford branch of HMV,just to check out their sale items.
Whilst there,i thought i'd have a look at what they had in stock by Stina.

As it turned out,they just had one copy of "The World Is Saved" but according to one of those square plastic dividers (you know what i mean?....those plastic dividers which have the artists names on for ease of locating),it wasn't by Stina Nordenstam but someone with a similar sounding name,....Nina Nordenstam?

hmmmm....perhaps Stina has another sister who she's been keeping quiet about.

ha! My brother would have a ball with that. He's convinced that because Stina kinda slurs her english, her mom had the same problem and had meant to name her tina (or in this case it could be nina, lol) but because of her speech impediment, it came out Stina. and thus, her name

I can think of lots of more obscure artists who suffer the same fate in multinational record shops where the staff know shit about what they're selling.
Why don't they save their trouble and just use the letters of the alphabet as dividers? Encourages more experimental browsing/listening.

And I've noticed a severe falling-off of Stina stocks in most of the record shops I go in...

Save for "The World Is Saved" i'm not seeing any other Stina album being stocked in stores like HMV or Virgin.
Maybe the bigger city mega stores have a better selection but the smaller town stores don't seem to be stocking much.

Nope,and she's not going in the cutout/sale bins either-they seem to be reserved for people who are really popular.

Tell him that Stina is a very old local nickname for Kristina that somehow caught on and became a name of its own. Other Swedish derivates of Kristina are Kristin and Kerstin... which somehow found their way into English as Kirsten.

i'll tell him. I'm sure he'll still refuse to believe it's a real name and that she has a speech impediment;)
