Desire Avenue

Last evening i attended a local gig by guitarist Nigel Mazlyn Jones.

But first there were the two support acts,followed by a 20 minute interval where the theatre emptied by a stampede of feet to the bar and/or bogs before the main act took to the stage.

Just as the audience were leaving their seats,taped music filled the theatre,starting with some familiar opening words...... "Little Star".

Amongst the mutterings i heard from the audience behind were "ooh....who's that?" and "Sounds like Bjork to me"

Anyway,naturally i wanted to hear "Little Star" in its entirety so there were my girlfriend and I,sitting alone in the front row of an empty theatre listening to Stina's dulcet tones......with my girlfriend looking rather bemused at me and giggling and wondering why i was sitting in an empty theatre listening to a recording which i could have heard any time at home.

But you couldn't have heard it anytime anywhere else,which is why you did it,of course.I'd have done the same!

yeah, that's awesome. there's nothing like hearing Stina (or other very obscure artists) in a public place where you never expected to hear her.

It's kinda cool too, you think of how people will react to what they hear, and how many liked it, and how many wil actuallyl try to follow up on the interest that her voice might have sparked...it's so exciting.

Hearing Stina after the Anna Ternheim concert was great too; you feel excited and looking around seeing if other people look interested... And it sure makes you stop and listen..

Well,they couldn't have been that interested Ruth,apart from the two of us,the theatre was deserted by the time Stina made it to the second verse.

hey, we'll give them the benefit of a doubt. maybe the one person that was really struck by it had a dangerously filled bladder and had to rush out;) lol it happens.
