OK, i know People Are Strange is almost all covers, remakes of how Stina likes the songs, but what the hell are the originals???

I know the songs Reason to Believe and I Dream a Jeannie, who doesn't? I LOVE what she did to those songs. I actually like them now. But what are the other covers of? All the time I feel like I've heard the lyrics before, but i don't know where. Help anyone?

Some of these are really nice songs ... C'mon, had you really never heard of the Leonard Cohen ones? They're great! Oh and Love Hurts? That songs is like a massive part of musical history. And if you say you haven't heard Purple Rain I'll say you're lying! And even the title track! It's by The Doors! So I'm sure you've heard a lot of the originals... you just didn't notice them.

you're right, of course i've heard purple rain and people are strange. i love the doors. I may have heard other songs, but i certainly don't remember them:/
very nice page danny boy. very informative and it looks like i have some more records to search out. i have quite a few, but i think the ones with the original songs covered by stina are worth owning. and i'm curious...

and dream a jeannie was made in 1854??? wow.

'I dream of Jeanie' was written by Stephen Foster who wrote enormously popular things in the 19th century-'Old folks at home'.'Long long ago' etc.
'She's like the swallow' has also been arranged by Benjamin Britten,for voice and harp,among others.
Boudleaux Bryant (Love hurts) also wrote 'Dream dream dream'.
Sinatra's version(for one example) of 'Lonesome road' uses quite different words.
And Daniel,I think you'll find that the excellent Jonas Nystrom,Stina's key collaborator of late,(the Nelson Riddle to her Sinatra if you like),wrote 'Swallow strings'.

You're right... I read the PAS booklet and I guess I interpreted his input differently. I thought Stina Had written the song and he arranged it, but now I see that the only correct interpretation must be that it's written by him.
