Hi there,

We've got a great (and rare) interview with the wonderful Stina in the latest fall issue of Sentimentalist Magazine. In it, she discusses her life as an artist and also some of what went into the making of "The World is Saved".

Here's an excerpt:

Did this record seem like a turning point for you since it seems to be more hopeful, in a way?
Yeah, but I didn?t consciously think that. Saying my life is more positive now...has sort of influenced my choices. But it?s an ongoing process. I don?t have the feeling that there?s one part of me that is unchanged. Instead, I have the feeling that my entire being is changeable every day.

Do you try to keep your songs separate from your ?real life? by maintaining a kind of distance in your lyrics?
The separation between the two is almost natural, because if I have some kind of tragic experience in my life and I try to write about it, it?s impossible. It?s too close to me. But if I can rewrite or punctuate in another way, it can be possible. I think that?s what art is in a way. It?s not a diary.

No wonder, since it's NY based.

And probably not too focused on mainstream music (meaning probably not something you would find in the import section at the newsstand).

According to the website the mag is available in the UK (and Europe and elsewhere) so as I'll be in London on Monday,I'll check out Virgin & Tower Records,as it seems they stock copies in their New York stores.
