Just been spending the afternoon watching the recent "War Of The Worlds" dvd which is on loan from my the brother.

I'm certainly glad it wasn't my money that was being wasted on it.

The special FX were excellent and must have looked superb on the "big screen" but the embarrassing mushy all American family value sub-story was just toe curlingly dreadful.

10 out of 10 for the look of the film.
2 out of 10 for the Americans screwing up a classic UK story.

You'd love the "special features" then.....there's a sequence where Dakota screaming 6 times in a row.

Incidentally, the almost three hours of DVD "special features" which I watched this morning is probably more entertaining than the film.
