Titanic isn't the biggest grossing box office film around the world for nothing.
Its simply a quite superb film which I've watched many times now,three of those times being in the last week as I work my way through the 4 dvd Deluxe boxset.

These three viewings were with the seperate directors / cast & crew / historical commentaries. Following that I enjoyed many hours working my way through the Special Features including Deleted Scenes (which are seperate so now I've got the job of somehow recording the film to dvd-r....the easy part,and stitching in the deleted scenes into their appropriate places....slightly less easy.),Alternative Ending (another section that i'll have to stitch into the film to replace the original ending) and various interviews and "making of" featurettes.

I really enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it, even though I was cringing at some of the dialogue and characterisation. I enjoyed it for what it was, an old-fashioned epic.

Then Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders spoofed it, and I've never been able to watch it since without giggling at the memory of Dawn "my bosoms are actually quite hurting" French as Kate Winslet.

i will give anything to see that spoof; not that it would make any sense to me..
for i am one of the rare species who hasn't even seen the movie once.

so i don't feel the pinch as you do?

The spoof is hilarious, but Dawn plays Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer is Kate Winslet. I love French and Saunders! The only part of the movie that gets me is the revisionist history (for example, in reality, whether Rose was in love with Jack or not, she, as a lady, would never have fornicated with Jack in that car!)
