Hellsing: Japanese Anime

Anybody who likes Japanese animation or manga..write here!
My favourite anime for now is:

After watching it and missing many episodes on tv, (there are 13 episodes) including the conclusion, I decided to buy the vcd series...
Hellsing, of course, is familar. You may have heard of Van Helsing.
Alucard is the name of the vampire, also familiar read backwards.
The OST for this Japanese animation series is so cool, it doesn't sound like traditional japanese animation. Just listening to the soundtrack and choosing the Japanese dub is interesting..The graphics are arresting, and the characters wholly foreboding and sinister, as it can be in Japanese horror..[/url]

I actually know very little about this genre.
The only stuff imported up here and showed on tv is the awful Pok?mon stuff (you know, that commercial Gotta Catch'em All! rubbish made to bankrupt parents of mindless kids into spending their money of pieces of paper called "cards" or cheap, plastic figures).
But I am sure there are great Japanese animation out there, so please write some more and come with recommendations!

THe japanese anime i watch are Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto and Oh, my Godess! I had to buy it in america or download, cause it's never on tv of course. well the only thing apart form the stupid kids stuff like pokemon was cardcaptor sakura, but that's not such an interesting series. If you heaven't heard of the series i watch then i can highly recommend them; Ranma is hilariously funny and Bebop is like a film noir with every episode having a reference to a music style...

I love Hellsing
, bought the first season boxset.
Also love Neon Genesis Evangelion (am trawling my way through the mammoth box sets at the moment). Ninja Scroll, Akira, Ghost In The Shell, Blood The Last Vampire are all fantastic.
Also adore anything by Studio Ghibli, who did the amazing Spirited Away and Grave Of The Fireflies...

I was curious about Hellsing as I never heard about it before...
Now I watched it and I wish it would be possible to see what happen after the season 1 as there's many questions unsolved !

I got a Ghost in the Shell DVD a couple of months ago, and finally got round to watching it today. It's quite good, no revelation I'm afraid. The first I've seen of this style, except for bits on television that I didn't understand.
My Neighbors the Yamadas is good. I happened to catch it at a festival of Japanese animation. Not that I'm saying everybody should hunt it down, but it's a charming little film and worth seeing if you get the chance.
Otherwise, I don't have any special tips. Next time I'm in a DVD shop I'll look out for the things mentioned here. Lots of shops have a few anime discs, so it's easy to find something but it might not be what you were looking for.
