Desire Avenue

I hadn't been listening to this ep much since i had finally gotten a copy of this recently, but what an awesome record, if only consisting of 3 songs. It's something so totally different from Stina's other albums. Did she work together with other producers to make this?

I especially like the jazzy electronic trip-hop that really fits Stina. A new album in this direction would be great, if after that we would get another "TWIS" styled album, cause that's really the style so unique for her of which i could never get enough.

I don't think this EP has been discussed in a thread on this forum before, so let's hear what you guys think of it, when you got it, how you got it, what the meaning of it is...

I love it. I could still (be an actor) is one of my favourites.
I guess if i remember right it was orignally a collaboration with Anton Fier. App. they wanted to make a whole album out of it, but then they app. stopped working together (for ?? reasons) Stina took over three tracks, remixed them and released them under the (original?) title "The Photographers Wife"as being a soundtrack to a movie. The whole movie doesn't exist though.

I bought the CD eventually via EIL for way to much money, but a few weeks later i managed to pick up another copy im Den Haag for just ?1 (and they had at least 10 copies there and i only bought one grr.. ) Much later i managed to obtain the 10" via ebay

I love this EP too.I think originally Fier/Laswell got together three singers,one of whom was Lori Carlson (possibly the model for 'Lori Glory');I can't remember the other one.

I love the idea of this non-existent film too

The hand of Bill Laswell is all over the production;but also the touch of Stina-and I've always been struck by how the unreleased demo for ASCHE (that Kuhn found on a cassette) sounds as if it could have been an outtake for Photographer's Wife too-very similar electro-style.

I tracked my copy down in a German online store who managed to hunt up several rare Stina items for me

no im sorry got some serious networkproblems after i tried to post this message so i must have tried several times. (and app it worked, although i didnt see it..) the strangest thing. scary too. i couldnt get this site on screen (and a few others i freq. visit too) until now. the strangest thing?
