What, no thread for them?

They deserve their own, it's really awesome music they're making, this Danish band with -again- the singing compared to Bj?rk, but actually there are like 8 group members and they're using some weird instruments in very good compositions to make rock music without guitars or so i've read. I think it sounds very interesting and good though. Their new album is out and is called:

Samme Stof Som Stof (Of the same fabric as fabric?)

actually all kudos for discovering UB has to go to Frank! [tup] he was the first to mention them here.

i just had a crush on the bass player! [:o] na... there were some nifty toons on the first coupla albums for sure.

but y'know what - i haven't heard anything from the new album except the single, which i thought bore a passing resemblence to SN's 'get on with yer life'. and i manged to miss them twice live when they played germany. but they seem to be making waves... nearly a decade after their inception. i guess they must have day jobs...

I didn't buy their new album yet, just heard great songs on their myspace page. and now that I have money, I think I'll buy it quite quickly !

saw one of their videos on TV recently - odd, with lots of model trees and animtade birds. it was on a goth show that I zapped into... I enjoyed it, although I did kind of miss a singalong chorus... ; )

I did go on wednesday and it was great to see them live. [tup] They played in a caf?-like venue which I like, allthough I found the sound often too loud, but that's just my opinion. Also from live videos i've seen they seemed to be playing rather loud and rough, so maybe they were in the mood for that or this is something that just wasn't in the videos i've seen.

On alwaysontherun.net it says they make "their own unorthodox interpretation of rock music" and i could really understand that now. It was cool to see them all working together using a wide variety of instruments. The guy on the violin and saw really went crazy on it at one time, sort of scratching on his saw, giving a lot of noise

So i really enjoyed and hope to see them again some time, to see if they play their songs differently then...

finally received their new album : so good !!!!

I also got an album by Jomi Massage titled Aloud : varied atmospheres, very moving... I advice you to check her myspace page I linked on a post above.

By the way, who knows Hector Zazou ? also ordered and received a 2003 album 'strong currents' with female voices (as he did for "chansons des mers froides") : Laurie Anderson, Lisa Germano, Sarah-Jane Morris, Jane Birkin, Caroline Lavelle...
All from the same french label Telescopic who also released Anna Ternheim's Somebody outside this year. They send me a 4 track cd as a gift, but I'm not into her voice nor her music I must admit.
